StitchPrism is designed and produced by KellyAnne Mifflin in SouthWest Philadelphia. KellyAnne, a queer artist living with chronic illness, is a self-taught illustrator and ceramicist who has been making adornment for body and home since 2009. All jewelry pieces begin as wet porcelain clay, then are cut and formed into shapes, joined with high heat wire, glazed in our signature colors, and fired in the kiln to 2232 degrees. They are topped with gold or silver metallic luster and kiln fired again, then paired with gold-filled chains and ear hooks or surgical steel stud posts. Prints are made on the risograph machine, a complex 300 lb piece of equipment that is essentially a hybrid of a copier and silkscreen. Illustrations are made by KellyAnne either digitally on procreate or with gouache paints. We have four part time studio and sales assistants who make up the full StitchPrism team: Linny, Katie, Chaska, and Mackenzie and one Very Important Cat, Momo.

StitchPrism officially began in 2011 and has changed and morphed many times since! You may have originally known us to make crystal and geometric jewelry as well as glass aeriums. The name StitchPrism comes originally from embroidery work, thinking about colors, light, shapes, weaving, and connecting, concepts which are also all part of my current creative world too.

Outside of StitchPrism, KellyAnne loves cats, plant walks, reading and resting while envisioning collective care and liberation for all.
